+ I Moved Again, and I Hired Someone
Basically a twenty-foot branch fell right beside me after I finished my run.
So, yes, I almost died. Then Ceci (my car) lost her A/C. Then her lock on the driver’s side (the only lock) broke. Then her front tires gave up on me. Yeesh.
Even so, it turned out to be one of the best weeks of the summer. I got to wrap up my time in S.C. with both my biological fam and my church fam at RADIUS near the University of South Carolina.
Speaking of campuses, I’ve got some updates that I hope encourage you as much as they encourage me. May they fan your flame to pray for this generation…
Wild Updates → GEN Z
On the drive to Bama today, I caught up with friends, family, and students across the country. Their stories feel like glimpses of something God is stirring in our generation.
Anderson University — My little brother began by telling me that last week he and some friends put together a prayer and worship night at Anderson University: over 120 people came. Malachi finished by giving a call and a challenge for men and women to commit to being in community, studying the Word, praying, and confessing regularly. This week, he showed up to his Bible Study and was surprised to find some 60 students with Bibles at the ready.
Clemson University — My cousin, Kinsley Kate Canter, informed me that Clemson University’s FCA had over 3,000 people there this past week. Me: “Wait—3,000?” Her: “Yeah, I didn’t even notice until someone told me after.” She went on to tell me that she’s part of a student group on campus who goes out once a week to Clemson’s “party central” and offers students rides to show that the Gospel’s got hands and feet.
S.C. Youth Ministry — My good friend, a twenty-three year-old youth pastor in South Carolina, launched a small prayer group this summer which met regularly to asking God to move in their midst. Last year, before the little prayer group started meeting, about 60 kids would show up on typical weeks. This year, they had over 180 the first week of the school year. Obviously, that was just the first week. The number would surely go down next week. Right? Again—to his surprise—he was wrong. Instead, over 200 students came.
Texas Seminary — Another close friend at a seminary in the south boldly asked the Dean of her school for support of our all-night prayer movement—he gave an enthusiastic, “Absolutely—anything we can do for you, we want to do.” He is the fourth major seminary dean to say that to one of our team members.
Wheaton College & Beyond: Finally, and most personally, I received a call from a mentor, the Rev. Dr. Angulus Wilson (Chaplain of Wheaton College). He spoke with Joseph Yoon (JY) and I, who, along with Tabitha Ross and Colleen Davis, are spearheading this prayer movement.
Chap: “J.T. and J.Y., I told some of the student leaders you guys wanted to draw the seminaries into all-night prayer. They were so excited, they’re demanding that we invite the whole student body.”
Me: “Do you think they’re ready?”
Chap: “Well, 617 freshmen just packed the house for New Student Worship, and we’re seeing spontaneous worship and prayer all over campus.”
Now, what started as a small night has grown. Invitations will go out not only to seminaries, and not only to Wheaton’s student body, but also to Trinity Christian College and Moody Bible Institute.Chap expects 1,000+ students to join us in all-night prayer—pleading with God for awakening in our theological schools, in our churches, and in our generation.
Our core team is praying regularly together for a move of God here. Please join us in prayer. Nothing can shake the foundations of the world like a few people on their knees, pleading with God to show us His glory.
I could not be more expectant for this night.

I Moved Again
This week, I not only drove from South Carolina to Alabama—I moved houses again.
Being the son of a church-planter, moving is kind of like getting new socks: you wear them for a year, maybe two, then it’s time for another pair. Not intentional—it just happens.
This time, a friend of a friend offered my roommate and me a great place nearby at an amazing price. So we’re making a small move within Titusville, Alabama—the sixteenth move of my life.
Each one reminds me: one day, we’ll finally have a real home.
In the meantime, the work keeps growing—and so does the team.
I Hired Someone
Meanwhile, the work keeps growing—and so does the team.
As you may remember from the last email, this week was about finding ways to scale (especially with seminary beginning). To do that, I needed two things:
A media editor.
Money to pay a media editor.
Both came in unexpected ways (I might can tell you the full stories some other time). Enter David Emerson—our very first THP team member! David and I have been talking about this for months, and he finally gets to start this week.
May the Lord continue showing favor to this project.

ONE MORE REFLECTION
Sometimes we think we need a long conference with God, but all He wants is a quiet moment to remind us:
Yes, you’re tired.
Yes, part of you wants a different assignment.
But remember—you’re the one who asked for this.
And deep down, you wouldn’t trade it for anything.
We have been given an assignment: to resemble Jesus Christ. That means pleading for God’s children—praying, perhaps even to the point of blood.
Only then will veils tear and the presence of God wash over us like a tidal wave.
Friend, thank you for praying.
Friend, do not grow weary of praying.
May we see You rightly, Father.
Yes, Father—awaken us.
